I graduated cum laude from Virginia Intermont College in 2007, majoring in Elementary Education.

The 2017 - 2018 school year will be my 6th year teaching elementary.  I have taught 1st, 3rd, and 6th grades.

I am a teacher, wife, and mother.  I have three wonderful sons, and I have been married for 15 years.  I try to see all aspects of your child's education from not only the teacher's view, but as I would feel as a parent.

Philosophy of Education
Mrs. A. Hensley

I believe that all students are entitled to a nurturing, productive learning environment. By providing differentiated lessons – focusing on group, hands on, and technology enhanced activities – I believe that each student can perform to his or her personal best. I believe that a student’s personal best should include all areas, academic and behavior. My goal is to not only teach the lessons to the students, but to provide them with a consistent, structured environment where they can feel supported and safe.

I strive each day in my class to inspire a desire in each student to think outside of the box, read, and explore new ideas. By encouraging each student to blossom into his or her true self, they can learn to become productive citizens in today’s society.
